Our wildlife food ‘pantry’ is nearly bare (running very low) and we are reaching out for support, so that we can continue to care for injured, ill or orphaned wildlife across our region. We have had a three fold increase in the number of wildlife that have needed care this year from 62 last year to 185 this year. It’s been really challenging to provide the range of feed to cover all the species & the different ages and stages of development. We have a care room and feed bins where we endeavour to carry stock for all species that come into care, so we can begin their rehabilitation journey immediately providing the most appropriate feed. Living regionally, it can be challenging to get stock, so we work with other Shelters & Foster Carers, sharing supplies where we can. It is not uncommon for a Foster Carer to pop in to us with an empty feed container to fill for an animal in emergency care… we are big on ‘together, we can do better’.
