Back into the community
| Addictions are hard to overcome and have the effect of splitting families, destroying careers and causing harm in the community. People with talents see their lifetime plans thwarted. Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous are well known organisations with a proven track record of enabling people to return people to the community so stigmas over their lives are removed and they become accepted again. Christ Church Mission Inc has a long record of assisting NA and AA to achieve this by hosting meetings ie providing confidential venues. This means covering the cost of the cleaning, electricity, heating etc to have the facilities available. We host 6 meetings a week. However, we find that AA and NA do not have the resources to cover the costs of making the facilities available and we do not have the funds. We want to continue to house the meetings. |
