Hardship Relief Project
www.eagleby.org.au
The Hardship Relief Project is aimed at families with children who are suffering from poverty and helplessness. This project provide food relief to families with children aged 0-14 years old who are struggling to make both ends meet and put food on the table. Socialising with other members of the community will be an important part of the project as these disadvantaged parents and children are not alone in facing life issues and challenges. Various community activities and programs will be provided free of charge to participants. There will be five volunteers who are rostered to directly work on the distribution of food relief and the management team will oversee, monitor and evaluate the project. These volunteers are experienced who have been with our organisation for a number of years. The project will run from February 2021 to December 2021 and food relief will be available during office hours from Monday to Thursday. The delivery will be conducted at our Eagleby Community Centre, 8 Cowper Avenue, Eagleby to fifteen families a week. Each family can avail of the food vouchers once in a fortnight. The ultimate aim of this project is to alleviate poverty by providing immediate food relief to people in crisis; awareness that there is help available and opportunities to participate in community activities as a pathway to intensify self-reliance.
