Community Fundraiser, Open Day and Support Program
We are planning a community fundraiser and Open Day, featuring a garage sale, live music, and a vegan cake and chai stall. This will coincide with the final weekend of our Crowdfunder campaign. As part of the Crowdfunder, we’ll offer ethical donation gifts such as recipe zines, zero-waste starter packs, organic produce hampers, environmental artworks, and cooking classes.
We are hoping the support from the Tucker Foundation, the Crowdfunder and Open Day will raise funds to implement new infrastructure changes to the front of the Food Co-op space, further develop our volunteer program and allow for a community outreach and marketing campaign.
We are planning to develop a dedicated area with at the front of the Food Co-op that will function as a permanent fundraising and community engagement space. Building on our existing bulk shopping area, this new space will enable us to host an ongoing program of events such as zero-waste workshops, cooking demonstrations, and creative activist projects addressing the urgent issue of waste and plastic pollution. The space will provide a visible, accessible platform to engage the public in practical waste reduction strategies, supporting community participation, and strengthen local action in the in reducing waste and sustainable practices.
With the support from the Tucker Foundation, we can continue to serve as a vital space for inclusivity, environmental learning, skill sharing, and community care while highlighting the power of grassroots action.

Celebrating 10 years of givingThe Albert & Barbara Tucker Foundation 2026 funding round has now closed. We accepted Expressions of Interest from 1st April - 31 May and are unable to accept late submissions. The dates of our next funding round will be advertised here as soon as they are available.
