Look Good, Feel Good aims to improve the physical and mental health and wellbeing of people experiencing chronic homelessness, rough sleeping and disadvantage by providing emergency relief through hot showers and hygiene products, including towels, toiletries, laundry facilities, dental clinics, feminine hygiene products, and clean clothes. Many people experiencing homelessness have no access to their own running water or hygiene products. People who are rough sleeping or experiencing homelessness are also much more vulnerable to a range of mental and physical illnesses. Lack of cleanliness and poor dental health can be a barrier to social inclusion, which is detrimental to mental health, and can prevent people engaging in other essential supports, while mental and physical ill health can cause issues with security, including working, applying for, or receiving assistance, and forming or maintaining a support network. Our program will tackle these and create a strong community to help our service users with the support they need. Our facilities are open throughout the day, which gives people the flexibility to use our resources as suits them most. This allows us to offer the service in a way that meets the diverse needs of our service users, as well as helping it to act as a soft-entry point to our longer-term supports.
