The Alpine dingo advocacy and research project

This project works towards seeing Alpine dingoes protected, thriving and appreciated in Victoria, ACT and NSW.
This is a multifaceted and multiyear project that includes nominations for listing at both a state and federal level, political lobbying, publicity and general awareness raising, and research.
It includes:

• Nomination for state and federal listing as critically endangered for two subspecies of dingo
• Development of short films and photographic material that will used to:

o Engage, Influence and inform politicians and policy advisors
o Educate the public
o Raise awareness as to the existence of Alpine dingoes in SE Australia.
o Highlight the critical role of the Alpine dingo as a keystone apex predator within the Australian Alps and its contribution to biodiversity and resilient ecosystems

• Work in collaboration with the Labor Environment Action Network to see Alpine Dingoes fully protected across Victoria. This will include developing promotional material to be used by LEAN within the State Labor Party
• Providing seed funding for the Songlines Project, a Traditional Owner-led, Traditional Owner Knowledge Project around the cultural significance of the Alpine Dingo.
• Publishing research on the role of the Alpine dingo as an apex predator
